This course addresses the fundamentals of hand soldering surface mount and through-hole components including soldering materials, heat sources, and their use in creating acceptable surface mount solder connections. Also includes information on the care of the soldering iron/tips and solders joint acceptability criteria. Soldering exercises include step-by-step pictorials for the installation and soldering/touch-up of radial, axial, multi-leaded through-hole, chip, gull wing, and J-lead components.
